In 1992, Bodegas Chandon Argentina, founded by Moët & Chandon in 1960, decided to undertake the Terrazas de los Andes project. After several years of searching and exploring new lands, he discovered and identified the best terroirs and the precise definition of height for each grape variety.
In 1999, Terrazas de los Andes was inaugurated, founded in the heart of Mendoza, in an old restored Spanish-style winery that belonged to Sotero Arizu since 1898, one of the forerunners of Argentine wine production.
In Terrazas de los Andes, it all begins in the vineyards located on terraces at the foot of the Andes Mountains. As pioneers in choosing the exact height to express the legitimate character of each genuine grape variety, our philosophy has been to identify the best terroirs for Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Torrontés and Chardonnay varieties.
That is why French tradition and technical knowledge, combined with an exceptional Argentine terroir, allow the Terrazas de los Andes team to extract the intensity and genuine characteristics of each variety, making Terrazas de los Andes wines distinguished by their freshness, intensity and elegance.
MoreSurrounded by the high peaks of the Andes, its vineyards are located in the heart of the Luján de Cuyo and Uco de Mendoza valleys.
Their wine reflects the history of the bond they have with the land, through which they orchestrate the extreme forces of nature to create a unique harmony through the following lines:
Altos del Plata: it is the fruit expression of each varietal grown at its ideal height. Grown at the foot of the "Cordón del Plata", a mountain range that predates the Andes, it transforms the findings on the altitude of the vineyards into fruity, fresh and vibrant wines.
Reserva: it is the characteristic style of Terrazas de los Andes, a panoramic image of all our high altitude terroirs in Mendoza. It is a consistent expression of each variety, harvest after harvest.
Apelación de Origen: re fl ects your best interpretation of the most outstanding Geographical Indications of Mendoza: Gateways, Paraje Altamira and Chacayes. They reveal a very particular style and characteristics determined by the climate and soil conditions.
Grand: the maximum expression of our blending expertise. It combines the facets of various terroirs from its own vineyards, located in the most exceptional Geographical Indications of Mendoza, resulting in the most faithful expression of the varietal.
