They are a family with a vision of progress and work. For more than a century they have built the future of their fields in Argentina.
In 1890, Don Fioravante Sottano arrived from Italy to settle in Mendoza, becoming a forerunner of the production, promotion and export of wines in the Cuyo region. His passion for wine was taken up in 1998 by his grandson Ricardo Sottano, who was able to pass on the legacy to his sons Diego, Pablo and Mauricio. In 2016, the Vicentin Family acquired the winery to continue and further grow the production of high-end wines.
Bodega Sottano is located in one of the most exclusive regions of Mendoza for the production of high-end grapes, in the district of Perdriel, Department of Luján de Cuyo. 30 km from the City of Mendoza and on the way to Chile, Sottano has the majestic presence of the Andes Mountains at its side. It was conceived and designed by the architect Mauricio Sottano and occupies two hectares, which include 15,000 meters of recreational landscape development in which only native species have been used. It was the premise of its builder to respect the environment as much as possible, which is why they also used very characteristic materials and colors typical of the environment.
MoreIts wines are born in the best areas of Mendoza, "Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco" (Luján de Cuyo: Perdriel and Valle de Uco: Vista Flores, Altamira and Gualtallary), where the most outstanding grapes come from. Each vineyard is selected for its unique characteristics, obtaining grapes that provide great complexity, an essential requirement for obtaining excellent wines.
Currently they have a production capacity of 800 thousand liters, which are distributed in automated stainless steel tanks of small and medium volumes, which allows us a better and meticulous quality control. They are obsessed with the quality of their wines, and that is why they have the highest technology in the entire winery to produce from the cheapest lines to the highest range. And to house their best wines they have an underground cellar, where they rest during their aging in oak barrels until they are bottled.
