Pasarisa, is a word composed of the first two letters of Patagonia, Salta and La Rioja, which ends with the initials of South America. New range of Laura Catena worked with the crops of those regions.

Merlot and Pinot Noir are found in the cold and windy region of Patagonia, the most widely planted grapes in this remote southern area after Malbec.

In the iron-rich soils of La Rioja, the producer has created a "meaty" Syrah. Meanwhile, from the high altitude region of Salta comes the only white in the range, a Torrontés, as well as a Cabernet Sauvignon, which has been planted here since the mid-19th century.

"The reason we chose these varieties for Pasarisa was because we thought they were very typical of the place and interesting," explained Laura Catena. "We did not want to do the same as in Mendoza."
