List of products by brand Crotta
In 1919, a 14-year-old boy arrived alone by boat at the port of Buenos Aires. It was the Italian José Eduardo Crotta. He was born on June 1, 1905 in the Lombardy region, in a village called "La Crotta", in the province of Pavia. His family consisted of his parents, who were farmers, and his five siblings, of whom he was the youngest.
In La Crotta the family had an orchard 800 meters above sea level, but the vineyards did not grow there. His early years passed in that place until he was barely into adolescence, when due to the vicissitudes of the First World War, he embarked for South America.
Thus, José and Guillermina had decided to make their own wines, those that, like their children, would bear the family name.
The winery and its vineyards are still in the hands of his descendants. His grandchildren Claudia, Carlos and Carolina continue to produce wines of the best quality, maintaining the tradition and prestige achieved over so many years of effort and dedication.
Always attentive to new trends in the wine industry. Despite their European origins, the Crottas bet on making wines with the identity of the land that adopted them.
Today the winery is still famous for its fortified wines such as Moscato, Porto, Marsala, and its Mistelas.
MoreOne of its great achievements was the creation of an excellent distribution chain that has ensured the presence of its products throughout the country.
Currently his son Carlos Leopoldo Crotta and his grandchildren continue to produce wines of the best quality.
