Founded in 1997, Doña Paula is considered an estate winery, because it has 100% grapes from its own farms, for the production of its wines.
The story goes that in 1880, Doña Paula Jaraquemada, a Chilean patriot of great courage, knew how to protect 120 Chilean soldiers on her farm in times of revolution. Doña Paula was the one who took care of 700 ha of that field. Viña Doña Paula bears that name in honor of this historical figure.
If there is a characteristic value in Doña Paula, it is her incessant sense of innovation both in technology and in winemaking. Doña Paula's work environment stimulates this potential value. The intention is to get out of the traditional, precisely it has plantations of non-traditional varieties strategically chosen, not to sell them as a variety but to carry out winemaking experiences, cloning said plant species. Among them are: Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Tannat, Viognier, Carmenere, varieties that have already produced their production. As well as Casavecchia, Ancellota, Riesling, Petit Verdot, Grenache, Marsanne, Aglianico, Touliba national still very young. Each one located and thought, with its corresponding soil study for each one of them.
MoreDoña Paula currently has 703 hectares of vineyards established in the best areas of Mendoza. In each farm the ideal combination of climate and soil was sought for each variety.
Its wines are the faithful reflection of the vineyard that gives them origin. They are made with a very respectful oenology of the typical characteristics of each variety and each region. All of their wines are gluten-free and vegan.
