The family, Romero Marcuzzi, began its commitment to the world of wine when Roberto Romero anchored his first winery four decades ago in Tolombón, a few kilometers from Cafayate.
There, between vineyards and long summers shared as a family, the pillars of this project were cultivated: a strong commitment to the place, great dedication to work and a great love and respect for the terroir that has grown throughout all these years. . It was in the wide galleries of that old winery where Lucía, Roberto Romero's granddaughter and current Director of El Porvenir de Cafayate, took her first steps.
At the end of the nineties it was decided to undertake a new project targeting a high-end market, designing a winery to produce few batches of very high quality wine.
With this clear objective, they acquired a century-old winery located in the center of Cafayate, which they updated in infrastructure and technology, restoring old 65-year-old vineyards of Torrontés, Malbec and Tannat with great success. During that time, they planted Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot vineyards on a new estate, among other varieties.
Today the winery rooted in Cafayate is in charge of Lucía Romero Marcuzzi, who works together with an outstanding team following the legacy of her ancestors with a marked innovative drive. To proudly show in each of its wines the imprint of Cafayate for Argentina and the world.
