Bodega Altus and its vineyards are located in the department of Tupungato, in the province of Mendoza. It is part of the region known as Valle de Uco. Tupungato is an area of unforgettable natural beauty, which was already reflected by its first settlers, the huarpes, when they gave it the name tupun-catu, which we can translate as "viewpoint of stars" in our language.
There, in what were once the vast domains of the wise cacique Gualtallary, nature is kind to wine: the altitude, the climate, the austere soil and the purity of a water that descends from the Andes, they achieve expressive wines with a strong personality.
The vineyards of Bodega Altus are high altitude vineyards. They are located between 1,200 and 1,500 meters above sea level.
They are located in an area with a marked thermal amplitude and a slow insolation, which causes a gradual and progressive maturation of the grape skin. This translates into complex wines with a lot of personality.
The vineyard itself works with the appropriate technology to achieve high quality wines and preserve the environment. Trellis is used as a drip irrigation and conduction method.
