Of an attractive ruby red color. With extraordinary and concentrated fruit, it has beautiful aromas of red currants, black cherries and hints of tobacco. A full-bodied wine. Round and velvety on the palate, with soft tannins. A hint of vanilla and toast is followed by a long, smooth finish. Very very elegant.

Description

The Caiquen is a wild Patagonian goose that usually crosses the Andes Mountains, between Argentina and Chile. In his flight he breaks borders and defies the established, like the caiquen, Aurelio Montes, founder of Bodega Montes in Chile, arrived in Mendoza in 2000, and after successive trips he discovered generous vineyards and people passionate about work. Thus, in 2001 there was no doubt that Mendoza was the perfect place to give life to Kaiken Wines, his ideal of what a great wine should be. The Ultra line are the wines where the desire of the Kaiken and Montes team of oenologists and viticulturists is strongly expressed to share the experience and knowledge making quality wines on both sides of the Andes. In Mendoza, we grow our grapes on our farms in Valle de Uco and Vistalba. The wines are of great structure, complexity and a long finish. Persistent, firm and soft tannins at the same time.

About Kaiken

The Kaikén winery was built in 1920 by Italo Calise. In those early years, in addition to wine, olive oil, distillates and tartaric acid were produced.

Today, the winery has the capacity to give life to 7 million liters that are distributed in pools of between 12,000 and 30,000 liters for fermentation, ideal for small batches of the highest quality. And also in pools of 100,000 liters for storage.

The creative spirit of Kaikén is reflected throughout the winery, which meets the highest quality standards required by contemporary oenology, with 1,500 barrels for aging, concrete tanks that allow a better use of energy and through the introduction of visionary biodynamic practices.
