The Caiquen is a wild Patagonian goose that usually crosses the Andes Mountains, between Argentina and Chile. In his flight he breaks borders and defies the established, like the caiquen, Aurelio Montes, founder of Bodega Montes in Chile, arrived in Mendoza in 2000, and after successive trips he discovered generous vineyards and people passionate about work. Thus, in 2001 there was no doubt that Mendoza was the perfect place to give life to Kaiken Wines, his ideal of what a great wine should be. The Ultra line are the wines where the desire of the Kaiken and Montes team of oenologists and viticulturists is strongly expressed to share the experience and knowledge making quality wines on both sides of the Andes. In Mendoza, we grow our grapes on our farms in Valle de Uco and Vistalba. In the Pehuenche language, the original people that inhabit Mendoza, Mai means First and the name of our first wine, the result of the constant search for excellence, uses their language in homage to them.
