La Azul Winery is a small redoubt that lives at the foot of the imposing Cordón del Plata, part of the Andes Mountains, in the Uco Valley, the heart of the Mendoza province. For generations, since Francisco Hinojosa arrived in these lands, more than 60 years ago, they have practiced the cultivation of grapes to produce high quality wines, but it was not until this century that the dream of all these generations became reality and took shape in the shape of Bodega La Azul. It was in 2003, when they saw the bottled fruit of their first harvest, but the tradition of vine cultivation has irrigated their veins since their grandparents arrived in the Uco Valley and understood that excellent fruits could be produced in this stony soil. Today, when the valley is full of trellises and state-of-the-art machinery, it is difficult to imagine that time when there was nothing but stones and sand and a dry river bed in winter. It is difficult to imagine that they arrived and had to try crops: fields, olive trees, walnut trees ... the vine.
MoreThe winery has a capacity of 59,000 liters in stainless steel tanks. The varietal line will end its way in the bottle, after passing through the tanks; the Reserva lines, on the other hand, will go into barrels: 70% French oak and 30% American oak; that with its different toasts and aromas subtly modify for long months the wine that sleeps inside.
This is their way of making grapes, making wine, and also, of course, drinking it, enjoying it and giving it the place it deserves: the party. With this in mind, Ezequiel undertook his own project within La Azul: the Restó.
