At the age of twelve he made his first wine, by the hand of his mother, "we are two curious without limits and we were very interested in making a wine by hand, hand picked and fermented in small jars", he tells Inmendoza.com .
For Lucas, making wine is like having a child "you have to take great care of him, when he is starting to grow up, pay attention to him, listen to him and then let him go." This is how the identity of the wine has the stamp of the oenologist and "the personality of a wine is the land from which it comes, its variety, its sun and its sky, then its vintner and finally its maker", he concludes.
Currently Niven has his family winery, Bodegas y Viñedos Niven, in which he displays all his knowledge and art of good vitivinicultural living. In it he experiments with all kinds of varietals and tells us that his next goal is to make sweet wine with frozen grapes.
