Alma Gemela is the project of sommelier Mariana Onofri and her partner Adán Giangiulio. The objective of Onofri Wines is to produce high quality Argentine wines, with a deep respect for the natural environment and the community where it originates.

The vineyard takes care of the environmental conditions and respects the ecology, privileging soil management as a central part of the system because it is a complex and living resource that must be protected and maintained to ensure its long-term stability. They only fertilize with organic fertilizers and natural materials that do not harm the environmental balance. Weeds are specially treated and controlled manually, never with herbicides, while diseases are managed through biological control and prevention. In addition to organic management, for their wines they use inputs that have less environmental impact, eco-light bottles and recyclable stoppers made from sugar cane with zero carbon footprint.

Young Garnacha with a concentrated garnet red color. Proposes Uco Valley identity thanks to its fresh red fruit, spicy and floral notes that make it complex and attractive. Medium bodied and well blended between tannin, acidity and elegant finish. 1200 bottles.

About Onofri Wines

"Small producers are the ones who can break the rules of what the market thinks it needs," says Onofri. “We do what we want, and that is the beauty, because there are consumers who are looking for wines that are different and that have personality and that express something different. Small producers have been able to show that we have the potential to make great wines with individual character ”.

Onofri practices sustainable agriculture and minimal intervention, making wines through micro-vinification and minimal oak wood, with an emphasis on rescuing old vines, historic regions and grape varieties. Varieties include Teróldego, Carignan and Monastrell, as well as Riesling, Fiano and Garnacha, Bonarda and Pedro Giménez. The latter is the second most planted white grape in Argentina (after Cereza), according to the INV, but it often ends up in the production of bulk wine. Onofri produces a 100% Pedro Giménez under the Alma Gemela label.
